Dr. Krishna Vukoti works in the intersection of Cellular Signaling and Mass Spectrometry. Post Translational Modifications (PTMs) and their networks play a significant role in the cellular signaling and hence are critical in various physiological processes like neurotransmission, hormone responsiveness, and cell differentiation. Krishna uses Stable Isotope Labeling with Amino acids (SILAC) to identify the novel PTMs in the GPCR signaling Pathway and study the functional relevance of these PTMs in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Krishna is also in-charge of the “Nano Acquity UPLC coupled LTQ Orbitrap XL” Mass Spectrometer in the Torres lab. His responsibilities include bio-analytical method development, operation and maintenance of the LCMS.
